Exit polls are predicting a dead heat between the two leading candidates in South Korea’s presidential election. The polls have shown virtually nothing separating Mr Lee Jae-myung of the ruling Democratic Party and Mr Yoon Suk-yeol from the conservative main opposition People Power Party. Over 14,000 polling stations that have been set up across the country. This is the second major election in South Korea since the pandemic. The country has been battling a surge in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, with nearly 350,000 cases on March 9 alone.
